  6. Your video displays incorrect, improper, and illegal ways to change a receptacle. Not only does is it a fire hazard its also a potential lose of life. With no knowledge of the device works or correct anything. the number of code violation that have been made are seriously in the double digits.

  8. This is an example of how people get hurt!!
not testing for power before removing the old receptacle!
installing a 20 amp receptacle on a 15 amp circuit!
installing a grounded duplex without a bonding conductor present!
Installing the hot and identified on the wrong screws!
This is unbelievable !! please remove this video before someone dies because of your carelessness!

  9. May I use this video to demonstrate how licensed electricians are important to performing simple tasks to keep you home safe?

  10. DELETE THIS VIDEO! Fundamental errors in safety (not checking power is cut, for example), and in wiring (hot to silver screw, no ground connection), and no final testing for polarity and ground (both would fail). Stick to playing with wrenches.

  11. DELETE THIS VIDEO! You are going to get someone killed. You might be a decent mechanic but need to stay away from electricity.

  12. Not only have you demonstrated how to dangerously and incorrectly replace a receptacle in your home, you have created an unsafe situation for yourself, your home and your family. You successfully violated several National Electrical Code requirements and safe working practices. You should remove this video before someone gets hurt or killed. Wish you much luck in Graphic Design, but stay away from electrical work.

  13. This is beyond unsafe, not only were you at risk while doing the work but everyone that uses that outlet or anything plugged into it is at risk. DO NOT REPLACE AN OUTLET AS SHOWN ON THIS VIDEO, YOU COULD GET HURT OT KILLED. The best thing that could happen is for this video to get pulled.

  14. I can only re-iterate what everyone else has already said. Pull this dangerous video. Someone is going to get themselves killed following your instructions.

  15. Yes. This video shows an unsafe wiring method. This post and video should probably just be deleted.

  16. The only things right in this video were the decisions to turn the power off, which you didn't verify, and to reinstall the device plate.

  20. Are you outta your mind! You are the last person that should be doing this. You have created a hazard in your home! That is NOT the proper way to wire an outlet! You have created a spark of fire for your family!! 😡😡😡😡

  25. This is a code violation, and totally improper. Like everyone has stated you should not be touching the electrical system if you do not have the knowledge to understand and properly do a repair

  26. I'm waiting for him to try plumbing.

  27. Didn't verify the circuit was de-energized. Positive and negative? Really? Hot to brass, neutral to silver. If no ground is present, the outlet must be labeled as such. Wouldn't hurt to plug in a circuit checker to make sure polarity is correct. It also would indicate no ground. Go buy a decent DIY book. Above all, don't make electrical videos when you don't have a clue!

  28. Totally clueless when it comes to his Electrical abilities. Video should be removed.

  29. The only thing you did correctly, was waljing over to turn the breaker off... past that point, you clearly don't know what you're doing. Wrong after wrong after wrong.

  30. To reiterate what has been previously posted. REMOVE THIS VIDEO. YouTube can be very dangerous for the layman. You cannot install a 20a receptacle on a 15a circuit. According to the NEC, you cannot replace an ungrounded receptacle with a grounded receptacle. There is no need for child covers on a tamper resistant outlet. NEVER mix up the hot and neutral wires to have reverse polarity. This install video is dangerous and potentially life threatening.
